Some of the things we did between Mar 2012 and Feb 2013:
The girls continued to work for their On Your Marks Badges, some of the activities they did for this were: making Olympic torches, making and racing for the Olympic rings, making gold medals and being awarded them for their positive attributes, making healthy eating posters and making healthy fruit and yoghurt snacks.
This year we also celebrated the Rainbows 25th Birthday. The girls completed their ‘Big Birthday Challenge’ and received badges for doing a number of challenges including: making giant team art pictures by rolling marbles in paint and making cupcake birthday cards which we sent to 7th Aldridge Rainbows (and also received some back from them).
We also joined with 7th Aldridge Rainbows for our 25th birthday party and had a great evening with ‘Circus Kevin’.
Crafts throughout the year included: making Mother’s Day cards, making Easter bags, cards and bookmarks, making Father’s Day cards, making masquerade ball masks, making stained glass Autumn hangers, making Autumn picture frames (using wax rubbings of leaves), decorating fabric purses, making Chinese hand drums, making funky foam Christmas trees and stained glass window Christmas cards and making ‘stick by numbers’ butterfly calendars.
The girls enjoyed a number of evenings with themes such as: Hinamatsuri - the Japanese Doll Festival, Valentine Day, What makes us smile and the Chinese New Year.
In the Summer we had a masquerade ball party and a Teddy Bears Picnic, at this the girls designed a bear and outfit for a ‘Best dressed teddy bear’ competition.
As a District the girls joined together and enjoyed a Jubilee mini games at Beaudesert to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic games.
